Lightweight insulated concrete also known as lwic is a material intended for use as an insulation and substrate for support and attachment of roofing membranes on slope roofs. Ballast paver can be used as a walkway perimeter ballast or can fully cover a roof for ultimate protection from wind and uv damage. Profiles are a fraction of the weight of our conventional roof tiles and are perfect for re roof projects. The largest single use for lwic is as a roofing base and thermal insulation for industrial and commercial buildings with low slope roofs.

Lightweight concrete roof tile eaglelite is our lightweight fire safe roof tile that is available in some of our most established profiles and colors. The lwic systems are composed of either aggregate or cellular concrete. The end result of the structural lightweight mix is a deck that can be 20 25 lighter than standard structural concrete. Roof systems lightweight concrete and screeds allows architects and building contractors greater versatility in design and performance of a flat concrete roof or deck.

Lightweight insulating concrete includes the application of expanded polystyrene eps insulation boards. With structural lightweight concrete a mix of shale slate slag and clay are used and with this mix the aggregate is fully saturated prior to mixing.
