I keep hearing a thud from one corner of my house from the inside.
Loud thud on roof.
First check your basement or crawl space below the spot where you hear the water sound.
It comes from all around the room.
It literally sounds like someone punching sheetrock.

It sounds as if something is hitting the outside of the house but looking around the outside does not reveal anything like loose siding that might be flapping in the wind or something.
A water leak inside a wall can destroy wallboard and insulation and lead to mold or mildew problems.
